SUN xVM Virtualbox

In addition to Microsoft VPC, VM-ware, there is another alternative choice. It is by Sun Microsystem.

It is free, but in my point of view, it is not as friendly as VM Workstation.
I installed Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy into my Virtual Box, everything seemed ok, except the sound system on Ubuntu is not working properly.

VirtualBox is a general-purpose full virtualizer for x86 hardware. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software.

Sun has just released the latest version of Virtual Box 2.2.2 on 28th April 2009. It sounds like a good day, at least for Chinese (28th ^_^).

Cloud Computing

時時雨，時時曇り。雲端運算，這個對筆者，不新又不舊的詞，最近讓我著迷。早在一年前，筆者經常都看到這個名詞，今天，幾乎在雜志，報紙都可以看到雲端運算，這一次不說不可以了。

雲端運算（cloud computing),可以說是是分散式計算技術的一種。正確來說，雲端運算是透過網路將龐大的運算處理程序自動分拆成無數個較小的子程序，再交由多部伺服器所組成的龐大系統經搜尋、運算分析之後將處理結果回傳給用戶。

透過這項技術，網路服務提供者可以在數秒之內，達成處理數以千萬計甚至億計的資訊，達到和「超級電腦」同樣強大效能的網路服務。

Internet Explorer 8.0 粉墨登場

早在一年前，當筆者還在本地一間學院上工作培訓時，老師有向我們提到IE8.0 Beta版。

IPhone II Touched Down M'sia

Aiyo, long awaited IPhone, finally arrived in M'sia. We as Malaysian, we have been looking down by neighbour countries namely Philipine, Singapore for 1 year ++, for no-IPhone in M'sia.

Now we as M'sian, able to lift our heads, and yell "We have IPhone too!".
